5G; Recent reports have revealed that five-year-old cell phones and smartphones may not be the most recent technologies, which is why so many companies are looking for a way to stay ahead of the curve. One way to do this is to produce specialized smartphones and cell phones that will be able to communicate over various Internet services. These services are generally referred to as emerging Internet technologies and are sometimes referred to as wireless broadband Internet services.

Since mobile service providers and cable companies are providing broadband connections at some point in time, it is easy to see why so many people would want a similar service over their phone. How does new service work?

The first step to creating a specialized smartphone and mobile phone is determining what standard or broadband protocol a company wants to use for wireless broadband connections. The best option available to companies today is to select a standard that does not change in the next several years.

Features: 5G Phones

Standard baseband protocol in use today is easy to modify to include features such as real-time video, Bluetooth, and a digital audio codec that include hardware encoder and decoder. Another common set of technologies that companies use to develop specialized mobile devices today includes QPSK digital modulation technology. Companies can get advanced carrier security features such as integrated GSM / EDGE and MPLS.

The biggest concern with technology today is that there are a lot of different baseband protocols and technologies that can become obsolete in the next few years. This is why carriers need to be wary about the future of future technologies. A clear advantage of using a standard baseband protocol is that it is easy to modify to include other features.

Recently, the Federal Communications Commission published a report that makes the following recommendations for cable companies to utilize emerging technologies. The report states that providers should determine the current broadband technologies that are in use today and identify any plans for technologies that may be compatible with the network that they already have. After identifying all of the broadband technologies in use today, the provider needs to decide which types of features and capabilities they can implement in the future to improve the quality of their services.

The FCC also recommends that cable companies look into technology that will support connectivity that allows them to offer services that do not necessarily involve voice and data connections. To simplify the process of switching from one technology to another; the FCC suggests companies use standard methods such as end-to-end features, VoIP, Voice-over-LTE, and ETRS (Extended-reach-ready) technology.

Mobile Technology

Providers also need to determine which changes they need to add new mobile technology. They should look at legacy standards like analog telephony; CDMA and LTE to determine if they are effective for mobile broadband services. After determining what technology is more appropriate for their specific type of service; the provider can then determine which equipment and enhancements are necessary to support that particular technology.

With cell phones, mobile Internet, and Smartphones; it is easy to understand how a standard can help to make the transition to emerging technologies easier. With existing technology, mobile devices can remain the same while making the transition to new technology easier.

However, it is important for providers to take into consideration the impact that; new technology will have on their existing devices. It is also important for providers to determine if the transition to new technology will make the devices; more valuable or less valuable.

Providers should also take the time to understand how a transition to new technology; will affect their current and different potential customers. Providers may find that newer technology will add to the value of the device; by increasing the number of features or the amount of RAM a phone has.

In addition, providers may also find that new technology will be less valuable for their existing customers. Providers should consider a number of factors when deciding which devices are better for their current or potential customers.
